In this presentation I would like to talk about practice. The purpose is to attempt to get a clearer picture of the problems that one faces when practicing in some creative field of work.

To start with, let’s talk about the need for regularity in practice. Regularity implies a certain continuity that can be measured to an extent. For example, practicing reading for a certain number of hours per day for so many days. Regularity here can be seen in the number of successive days the work has been done within the specific temporal delimitations.

Regularity in practice appears to be intimately linked with the pursuance of a particular field of work. This is because, even though one can be regular in temporal terms doing very different activities, there wouldn’t be an identifiable reason to do them if the practitioner has no stakes in the outcome of the work.
